Why
“Greatwater”?
中孚 — Zhong Fu — is the sixty-first hexagram of the I Ching, the oldest Chinese book there is. It means inner truth: sincerity that starts on the inside. 湛 — Zhan — is water, deep and clear. 益 — Yi — is benefit, being of use to others. An old-fashioned name, chosen on purpose; the work is anything but.
The hexagram’s judgment reads: “It furthers one to cross the great water, as in a boat of hollowed wood.” That line named our international studio — Greatwater Tech — and that boat is how we see ourselves. Getting AI into a business is a river crossing: we carry people and cargo safely to the far bank, then keep the ferry running.
We’re a small studio based in Zhejiang, China, working remotely with clients worldwide in English and Chinese. Small means principals do the work: the person who scopes your project is the person who builds it. And the timezone gap works for you — brief us in your afternoon, wake up to progress.
